World Vegan Day Founder Comes to Mallorca

Europe’s leading Vegan Culinary Academy is pleased to announce in honor of World Vegan Day, November 1st, that the founder of World Vegan Day, Louise Wallis, will be coming to Sabor Vegan Culinary Academy Mallorca Spain in February 2016.

World Vegan Day is an annual event celebrated on 1 November, by vegans around the world. The Day was established in 1994 by Louise Wallis, then President & Chair of The Vegan Society, United Kingdom to commemorate its 50th anniversary of the term 'vegan', 'veganism', and the establishment of The Vegan Society.

Louise is owner of the vegan venue Kabaret@Karamel, recently voted Time Out's "Most Loved Restaurant in London".

Louise Wallis has been dubbed "Britain's No 1 Animals Rights Campaigner”. In 1990, she organized one of the largest animal rights marches ever held (25,000 people). Louise is also a recognized Musician and DJ and is a member of the band Luminous Frenzy. She was voted one of the World's 'Top 100 Female DJs', in a comprehensive world-wide listing. Combining her love of DJ’ing and veganism, Wallis has created two popular vegan-themed DJ mixes. ‘Vegan Anthems’ in 2010 was described by the award-winning blog Our Hen House as “an eclectic, moving, unexpectedly genius set.”[22] In 2011, Luminous created 'Vegan Artists – from Sigur Rós to Black Sabbath' in what she described as "an odyssey."

Louise is coming to Sabor Vegan Culinary Academy Mallorca February of 2016 to be part of the Academy’s growing movement to become the world’s leading academy for teaching aspiring and existing chefs to become experts in Vegan cuisine.

The two founders of Sabor Vegan Culinary Academy, Manuel Lynch and Stephanie Prather, have arranged to have some of the most notable vegans in the world come and share their journey at the academy. Past guests have included Mimi Kirk, recognized by PETA as the “World’s Sexiest Vegan over 50”, and also Adrian Smith of Vegan Peasant, rated by VegFest UK as one of the top vegan show chefs, and also by Sandra Vergin of Extravergin Nice France, who designs vegan menus for ultra wealthy families in Monaco, and upcoming appearance by Jean-Christian Jury of La Mano Verde Berlin, recognized as Europe’s leading vegan chef.

Louise Wallis will be conducting a Vegan Weekend Warrior Workshop in Palma on the island of Mallorca Spain on February 27, 2016. The founders of Mallorca Vegan, the company behind all Vegan activities on the island is also arranging for Louise Wallis to perform musically during her visit.
